Samsung will begin its fall recruitment process for new employees on September 8, aiming to create youth jobs and enhance future competitiveness.

According to industry sources on September 7, a total of 19 major affiliates, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, Samsung Biologics, Samsung Bioepis, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Samsung Card, Samsung Securities, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung E&A, Hotel Shilla, Cheil Worldwide, S1, Samsung Medical Center, and Samsung Welstory, will participate in the hiring process.

Applicants can submit their applications through Samsung's recruitment website, Samsung Careers, until September 15. The process will begin with job suitability assessments in September, followed by the Samsung Job Aptitude Test (GSAT) in October and interviews and health checks in November.

The selection process will vary according to job characteristics. Candidates for software positions will take a practical 'SW competency test' instead of the GSAT, while design applicants will be evaluated based on their design portfolios without taking the GSAT.

Samsung has maintained its public recruitment system since it was first introduced in 1957, marking 70 years of this tradition. Among South Korea's top four conglomerates—Samsung, SK, Hyundai Motor, and LG—Samsung is the only company that continues to hold regular public recruitment.

Despite major economic crises, such as the oil shock in the 1970s and the financial crisis in the 2000s, Samsung has consistently conducted public recruitment. The company has also led the way in evolving its hiring practices, introducing public recruitment for female college graduates in 1993 and implementing 'open recruitment' by removing educational requirements in 1995.

This recruitment drive is part of Samsung's commitment to expanding domestic investments in future advanced industries, including semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, batteries, and displays, as well as its promise to hire more young people.

Chairman Lee Jae-yong of Samsung Electronics expressed his commitment to job creation during a business leaders' meeting at the Blue House in February, stating, "Our performance has improved significantly, allowing us to hire more this year."

Samsung is also running a youth talent development program. The company operates the Samsung Youth SW·AI Academy (SSAFY) across five campuses nationwide, recently expanding its educational offerings to include graduates from Meister high schools and restructuring the curriculum to focus on AI.

A Samsung representative noted, "Since 2019, over 9,400 SSAFY graduates have found employment at more than 2,600 companies domestically and internationally," adding that the company is actively securing technical talent, including special hiring for over 1,600 winners of national skills competitions through last year.
