A disaster monitoring system based on artificial intelligence (AI) is being tested in Anyang to quickly assess and respond to flooding during heavy rainfall.

Since being selected as a demonstration site in May, the AI-based flood detection model has been undergoing field verification since June.
 
The system analyzes incoming CCTV footage in real-time using AI. The key feature is its ability to quickly alert monitoring personnel when abnormal situations related to flooding, such as rising river levels or water accumulation on roads, are detected.
 
Previously, monitoring personnel had to manually check multiple screens to assess risk situations. With AI video analysis, the system can simultaneously analyze numerous CCTV feeds to identify anomalies.
