Starting this year, the support method has been changed to allow facilities to directly select the types of supplies they need. This adjustment reflects the varying operational conditions and user characteristics of each facility, moving away from a one-size-fits-all approach to support tailored to on-site demand.
The scale of support has also increased to 400 million won, with the number of facilities receiving assistance rising from 80 last year to 99 this year. Among these, senior welfare facilities account for the largest share at 49, followed by 15 for disability welfare, 11 for community welfare, 9 for early childhood and child welfare, 6 for women's welfare, 4 for youth welfare, 2 for family welfare, and 3 for others.
Since launching the project in 2022, the Saemaul Geumgo Foundation has provided approximately 830 million won to a total of 303 facilities as of last year. Including this year's support, the cumulative total will reach 402 facilities and about 1.23 billion won.
