SEOUL, September 17 (AJP) - LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo and executives from major affiliates gathered to review the conglomerate's investment strategy as artificial intelligence reshapes industries and technology, the group said Thursday.

About 40 executives from LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Innotek, LG Chem, LG Energy Solution and LG Uplus attended the eight-hour meeting held Wednesday at the LG Academy in Icheon, south of Seoul.

Executives reviewed existing investments and future strategies in areas including AI factories, physical AI, semiconductor materials and substrates, and AI transformation, or AX.

"AI is no longer an area we can address selectively, but a key pillar that will determine our future competitiveness," Koo said, calling on executives to move quickly in areas the group sees as critical to its AI strategy.

LG has been holding quarterly executive meetings focused on different strategic themes this year, including AX in March, research and development in June and investment strategy this month.
