LG Household & Health Care is collaborating with the Korea Food Research Institute to discover materials aimed at extending healthy lifespans and developing health supplements.

On September 17, LG Household & Health Care signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Food Research Institute to cooperate on the commercialization of research projects in the food sector, including the development of new health supplement materials and analytical technologies.

The agreement outlines several initiatives, including the joint development of new functional ingredient analysis methods, collaborative development of new materials for extending healthy lifespans, business model collaboration for commercialization, technical support and information exchange for product development needed for entry into new domestic and international markets, and educational support and research and development (R&D) infrastructure exchange for nurturing experts.

LG Household & Health Care will leverage its product development and overseas business capabilities alongside the Korea Food Research Institute's food analysis and research infrastructure. The two organizations plan to work together on everything from discovering new functional materials to verifying their efficacy, developing analysis methods, and assessing product commercialization potential.

A working committee will be established to identify joint research projects and facilitate detailed cooperation on new material verification and analysis of new food formulations. This collaboration aims to enhance the technological level of the domestic health supplement industry and introduce competitive products to the global market.

An official from LG Household & Health Care stated, "This agreement marks the starting point for developing health supplements that contribute to customers' healthy lives based on scientific research capabilities. We will connect research outcomes with products and experiences in collaboration with the Korea Food Research Institute."

Meanwhile, LG Household & Health Care has selected six global brands, including The History of Whoo, belif, The Face Shop, CNP, Dr. Groot, and Yushimol, to target key overseas markets.
