The Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) has referred 19 suspected cases of ticket scalping during the Chuseok reservation period to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the National Police Agency.

Scalpers were found attempting to sell tickets on online secondhand marketplaces at prices exceeding the normal fare by 4,100 won to as much as 46,500 won. One case involved a ticket purchased for 53,500 won being offered for 100,000 won.
KORAIL has submitted transaction records and evidence to the Ministry and the police. Under current railway business laws, reselling tickets for a price higher than the purchase price for habitual or commercial purposes can result in fines of up to 10 million won.
