The company said Tuesday that its Wire & Cable division is participating in the exhibition from Sept. 21 to 24, displaying materials for super extra-high-voltage (SEHV) cables as well as circular solutions.
Among the products on display is a 500-kilovolt-class cable model using cross-linked polyethylene, or XLPE, insulation and semiconductive materials designed for extra-high-voltage transmission. Hanwha Solutions is also presenting its "Closed Loop" solution, which uses its proprietary decrosslinking technology to recycle discarded XLPE cable materials for use in new cables.
Hanwha Solutions also plans to sign separate memorandums of understanding with Chinese cable makers ZTT and Hengtong during the exhibition.
Under its planned agreement with ZTT, the companies will jointly develop 132-kV wet-type offshore wind cable materials using tree-retardant XLPE (TR-XLPE) and semiconductive compounds. Hanwha Solutions will supply the materials and technical support, while ZTT will manufacture cable samples and conduct type tests.
The company will also partner with Hengtong to develop cable materials for extra-high-voltage, submarine and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power transmission.
"China is an important market that is rapidly growing in extra-high-voltage transmission and offshore wind," said Carlo Scarlata, head of Hanwha Solutions' Wire & Cable division. He said the company aims to expand business opportunities in China and global markets through technology verification and joint development with local customers.
