Dreame T16 Foam Wash Cleans Dusty Outdoor Floors with Ease

A single pass of the Dreame T16 Foam Wash on an outdoor wooden floor removed most dust and stains. Debris, including fine dust and small twigs that were difficult to see before cleaning, collected in the wastewater tank. The device effectively handled both dust suction and mopping in one go, even on the heavily soiled wooden floor exposed to the elements.

The reporter recently tested the T16 Foam Wash, a mop cleaner launched by the Chinese appliance company Dreame, in a traditional Korean house (hanok). The hanok's wooden floors, which are prone to accumulating dirt and debris from the outside, provided an ideal environment to assess the cleaning performance.

Using only the T16 Foam Wash without a separate vacuum, the reporter cleaned the outdoor floor. Dust and small debris were immediately removed from the surface where the device passed. The mop roller simultaneously wiped the floor, eliminating most of the remaining stains.

Although the floor appeared relatively clean before the cleaning, the results were surprising. After finishing, the wastewater tank revealed murky water. The wastewater contained not only fine dust but also small twigs and other debris that were not visible before. Despite the significant accumulation of dirt on the outdoor floor, a single cleaning session effectively removed a large portion of it.

The T16 Foam Wash boasts a maximum suction power of 25,000Pa. It can simultaneously suck up dry dust, hair, and wet debris while the roller cleans the floor. Users do not need to first remove dust before mopping, streamlining the cleaning process.

In areas with high levels of contamination, the smart feature activated. The built-in RGB sensor detects the level of dirt being suctioned and automatically adjusts the cleaning solution ratio, suction power, and water usage. While using the smart mode on the outdoor floor, the reporter noticed varying intensities of operation in heavily soiled areas, as the cleaner focused on those spots.

Since the device was used on wooden floors, the remaining moisture after cleaning was a concern. However, while a thin layer of moisture was left immediately after the mop passed, the floor did not become excessively wet. The moisture dried relatively quickly over time. The product features a dual scraper that removes moisture from the roller, and the manufacturer states it can be used on hardwood floors.

The 180-degree reclining design and directional change feature were useful when moving around the hanok. With a body thickness of 9.85 cm, the device could fit under furniture, and its close-contact design allowed for cleaning near walls and corners. It can pivot up to 80 degrees, making it easy to navigate narrow spaces.

Post-cleaning maintenance of the mop roller was also straightforward. Placing the device on its charging dock and activating the automatic cleaning function cleans the roller with hot water up to 90°C. It then dries the roller with hot air up to 95°C. There was no need to separately detach and clean the soiled roller.

However, the device weighs 5.2 kg, which can feel heavy when lifting it over thresholds or moving it directly. On flat floors, the roller assists with movement, making it less burdensome to operate, but in a hanok with many thresholds, the user must lift the device each time they change spaces.

The T16 Foam Wash combines dust suction, mopping, and roller cleaning and drying in one device. It effectively removes most contaminants from outdoor wooden floors exposed to dust and debris in just one cleaning session. Notably, the wastewater tank revealed dust and debris that were not easily visible before, providing a clear demonstration of its suction and cleaning capabilities.
