The South Korean archery recurve team will compete in the 32nd and 16th rounds of the individual events at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on September 29 at the Okazaki Central Comprehensive Park in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. In the men's division, Kim Je-deok and Lee Woo-seok will participate, while Kang Chae-young and Oh Ye-jin will represent the women's division.
On September 26, during the ranking round, South Korea set new tournament records in all three categories: 2040 points in the women's team event, 2064 points in the men's team event, and 1378 points in the mixed team event. In the men's division, Kim Je-deok (Yecheon County Office) ranked second overall with a score of 693 points, just behind India's Dhiraj Bommadevara, who scored 698 points. Lee Woo-seok (Kolon Xten Boys) placed fourth with 687 points, while Kim Woo-jin (Cheongju City Hall) came in sixth with 684 points. In the women's division, Kang Chae-young (Hyundai Mobis) topped the rankings with a score of 685 points.
Due to a limit of two individual event quotas per country, only the top two from the ranking round will advance to the 32nd round. Consequently, Kim Je-deok and Lee Woo-seok will represent the men's division, while Kang Chae-young and Oh Ye-jin will compete in the women's division.
The team will not select separate players for the mixed team event, granting entry to the top-ranked individuals from the men's and women's ranking rounds. As a result, Kim Je-deok and Kang Chae-young will team up for the mixed team event. If both athletes win in the individual, men's and women's team, and mixed team events, they will each achieve a triple crown at this tournament.
At the 2022 Hangzhou Games, the South Korean recurve team won four gold medals in the men's and women's team events, as well as the mixed team and women's individual events.
Meanwhile, the South Korean archery team aims to secure a total of 10 gold medals at this tournament, with all six team events having reached the semifinals.
