The National Jeongdong Theater announced that it will host the fall outdoor performance 'Noon Gathering' from September 29 to October 31 in the theater's outdoor courtyard.

Set against the backdrop of autumn in Jeongdong, the program features traditional Korean cultural performances, including tightrope walking and Taekkyeon, allowing audiences to enjoy various arts up close. The performances are free for anyone, from office workers on their lunch breaks to citizens visiting downtown Seoul.

The opening act will be performed by professional artists based on the National Intangible Heritage of Namsadangnori. The 'Cheonji Gaebyeok' performance team, active for 35 years both domestically and internationally, will showcase thrilling stunts and comedic storytelling through 'Eoreum' (tightrope walking) and traditional drumming.

A performance of Taekkyeon, a unique traditional martial art of Korea, will also take place. The traditional cultural performance group 'Balguang Entertainment' will present the fluid and powerful movements and various techniques characteristic of Taekkyeon, which is recognized as a National Intangible Heritage and UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

There will also be a stage for artists with disabilities. Artists from the Korea Developmental Disabilities Culture and Arts Association, known as Art We Can, will engage with the public through music. On October 31, a special performance will be held in conjunction with the 'Jeongdong Night Walk' festival, which takes place in the historical and cultural sites of the Jeongdong area.

This performance marks the return of the National Jeongdong Theater's outdoor shows, which were beloved by citizens, after a seven-year hiatus. The theater plans to regularize outdoor performances in the spring and fall starting this year.

Seo Seung-man, the CEO of the National Jeongdong Theater, stated, “I hope this will be a time where everyone can comfortably enjoy performances in an open space, experiencing art naturally in their daily lives, as if they were taking a walk.”
