The Black Yak Foundation is providing 2 billion won worth of relief supplies to assist flood victims in Nepal.

The social welfare organization, part of the BYN Black Yak Group, announced on September 30 that it is delivering supplies to help stabilize the lives of those affected by the flooding in Nepal.

The donated items include Black Yak clothing, blankets, mats, and water bottles, which are essential for daily living and warmth. The supplies are being distributed to residents in the affected areas through the international relief and development NGO World Share.

Black Yak has a history of supporting environmental conservation and community initiatives in Nepal, rooted in its brand's connection to the Himalayas. The organization has collaborated with local mountaineering stakeholders, including the Nepal Mountaineering Association, Sherpas, and icefall doctors.

During the 2015 Nepal earthquake, Black Yak dispatched an emergency relief team and provided supplies and donations. It also initiated the 'Learning in the Himalayas' project to rebuild schools damaged by the earthquake.

Recently, the foundation has expanded its efforts to address climate change. In June, Black Yak hosted the 'Himalayan Climate Charter 2026 - Namche Summit' at an altitude of 3,440 meters in the Himalayas, discussing future climate response strategies, including local cleanup and restoration activities.

Kang Tae-sun, chairman of the Black Yak Foundation, stated, "Nepal and the Himalayas are at the forefront of the climate crisis and are among the first to be affected. I hope these relief supplies will provide some assistance to the victims, and we will continue to take practical actions and support to overcome the climate crisis."

Additionally, the Black Yak Foundation received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare during the '20th Missing Children’s Day Ceremony' held on May 19 at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel.
