Hana Financial Group announced on September 30 that it has convened its Group Nomination Committee to begin the CEO succession process for six key affiliates, including Hana Bank, Hana Securities, and Hana Card.

The Group Nomination Committee is responsible for recommending CEO candidates for major affiliates. It is chaired by an outside director, with three of the four committee members being outside directors. Hana Financial explained that this structure ensures independent deliberation in the succession process.

Starting this year, the role of the Bank Nomination Committee will also be expanded. Since 2024, the committee has been granted the authority to recommend candidates for the bank president position. The Bank Nomination Committee will submit candidates and reasons for their recommendations, which the Group Nomination Committee will then review for inclusion in the candidate pool.

This year, the Bank Nomination Committee will not only recommend candidates but also provide input on the final candidate pool. The Group Nomination Committee will share the shortlisted candidates with the Bank Nomination Committee, and the chair of the Bank Nomination Committee will participate in the evaluation process for the final candidates.

By the end of next month, the Group Nomination Committee plans to select up to three final candidates for each of the six key affiliates and will recommend one final candidate for each affiliate by early December.

The Group Nomination Committee will apply the same evaluation criteria at each stage of the candidate selection process, allowing for a verification period of at least two weeks. Additionally, in-depth interviews, including presentations, will be conducted for the final candidates, followed by the completion of evaluation forms and voting to determine the final candidates.

Woon-Sook Yeon, chair of the Group Nomination Committee, stated, "We will closely communicate with the Bank Nomination Committee and recommend the optimal leaders to guide each sector based on their capabilities and performance."
