Song Kwang-seok has been appointed as the CEO of Korail Networks. He will lead the newly integrated company formed by the merger of Korail Networks and Korail Tourism Development, aiming to enhance customer service by linking railway support and tourism and crew services.
According to Korail Tourism Networks (tentative name), Song stated during his inauguration ceremony, "This integration is not merely about merging two organizations, but a starting point to combine our experiences and capabilities to create new value."
He identified service changes that customers can feel as a key priority following the merger. His plan includes integrating the railway support services provided by Korail Networks, such as station services and parking, with the railway tourism and crew customer services of Korail Tourism Development.
As part of his management direction, he outlined several goals: prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction, enhancing business competitiveness by consolidating the strengths of both companies, and fostering a culture of communication and mutual respect within the organization.
This merger aims to consolidate the organizations and businesses of Korail Networks and Korail Tourism Development into a specialized customer service company. The integrated company will take on existing operations from both entities, including station services, parking, railway tourism, and crew services.
The new entity is currently using the tentative name 'Korail Tourism Networks.' The official name will be finalized later this year after gathering employee feedback and consulting with experts.
Song emphasized, "The integrated company should not just be a larger organization but must provide more convenient and safer services to customers while creating new business opportunities. We will connect railways and tourism to generate new value."
