Gyeonggi Ansan City Council commenced its 306th regular session on October 2.

According to the council, the first plenary session opened the 29-day regular session, which will run until the 30th.

This regular session will review last year's budget and assess the overall administration for the current year, along with deliberating various agenda items.

A total of 61 items are on the agenda. Committee reviews will take place from October 2 to 12, followed by administrative audits from the 13th to the 21st.

The special committee for budget review will hold additional meetings from the 23rd to the 28th after its initial session.

The second plenary session is scheduled for the 29th, and the third plenary session will take place on the 30th.

The second plenary session will include administrative questions, while the third will finalize decisions on various agenda items.

Notably, a resolution to form the special committee for budget review was also passed during the plenary session.

The committee members include Kim Tae-sung, Yoon Oh-il, Hyun Ok-soon, Choi Chan-kyu, Yeom Jeong-woo, Lee Sang-woo, and Ahn Du-hwa.

During the first meeting of the special committee, Kim Tae-sung was elected as chair, and Yoon Oh-il was chosen as vice chair.

In the five-minute free speech segment before the plenary session, council members Baek Seung-hee, Park Eun-jung, and Kim Jin-sook presented their views on local issues and city administration.

Baek Seung-hee proposed a "Global Traditional Market Modernization Project" to enhance the competitiveness of the multicultural village district in Wongok-dong.

She suggested securing funding through the central government's traditional market modernization program, establishing a unique multicultural market brand for Wongok-dong, expanding youth and social solidarity economy participation, and developing a comprehensive basic plan.

Park Eun-jung called for improvements in the city administration's response to council schedules and the agenda submission process.

She pointed out that despite the annual schedule being public, the Ansan Citizens' Day ceremony coincided with the regular session's plenary schedule, and she highlighted numerical errors in the 2025 fiscal year consolidated financial statement, stating, "There is a need for prior administrative review and measures to prevent recurrence."

Kim Jin-sook raised concerns about errors in the documents related to the overseas business trip for the establishment and operation plan of the Daebu Island Marine Attraction Center.

She noted that dates, locations, and institution names were incorrectly recorded in the trip documents and demanded an apology for the inadequate agenda submission, transparent re-reporting of the trip details, and the establishment of a verification system for agenda items.

Following the plenary session, the Council Operations Committee reviewed the 2025 fiscal year financial statement submitted by the council secretariat.

Meanwhile, Chair Han Myung-hoon stated, "This regular session is an important period for settling last year's finances and reviewing this year's administration, while also preparing for the future direction of Ansan's governance," urging active cooperation from the city administration.
