The Korea Rural Community Corporation announced it will reduce the processing time for land lease contracts by more than half in response to increased demand for land bank services following a comprehensive land survey. The agency also plans to simplify the public mydata authentication process for elderly customers and provide a real-time service to check waiting numbers for land pensions.

On October 7, the corporation revealed improvements to its digital work system for the land bank, including the simplification of public mydata authentication and the automation of processes.

Public mydata is a service that allows individuals to easily submit personal information and documents held by administrative and public institutions. The corporation introduced this service in 2024 to reduce the inconvenience of customers having to obtain and submit necessary documents themselves.

However, elderly customers, particularly those unfamiliar with mobile authentication or digital devices, faced challenges. Among land bank contract customers last year, 41.6% were aged 60 and older.

In response, the corporation has changed its procedures starting this month, allowing customers visiting branches to use public mydata without separate mobile authentication, relying instead on identity verification and tablet signatures.

An automated system has been implemented for the land lease processing, utilizing information submitted through public mydata. This system automatically generates applicants' personal details and application information, determining eligibility for the program.

According to the corporation, the time required for document submission and contract preparation has been reduced from 9 minutes and 30 seconds to under 4 minutes.

Access to waiting information for land pension applicants has also been improved. Since April of this year, the 'Real-Time Waiting System for Land Pension' allows users to check their waiting numbers by entering their name, date of birth, and the branch they applied to, without needing to register as a member.

The corporation also offers an electronic contract service that allows customers to finalize contracts without visiting a branch, as well as a 'One-Stop Registration Service' for processing related documents without visiting other agencies.

Lee Jeong-moon, the corporation's land management director, stated, "As the number of customers visiting the land bank increases due to the comprehensive land survey, we are continuously improving our work systems and processes to reduce customer inconvenience and waiting times. We will continue to listen to customer feedback and carefully address challenges in the field to make the land bank more accessible."
