The Financial Services Commission announced that the cumulative sales of the second National Participation Growth Fund have reached 316.2 billion won, achieving 52.7% of its target amount of 600 billion won as of October 7.

According to the commission, as of October 6, the remaining amount of the second National Participation Growth Fund totals 283.43 billion won, with 205.91 billion won remaining in banks and 77.52 billion won in securities firms.

Currently, the first fund has a return of 1.40%, which is higher than the KOSPI's decline of 14.55% and the KOSDAQ's decline of 10.60% since its establishment on June 12.

The National Participation Growth Fund primarily targets advanced strategic industries, including unlisted companies. The commission explained that due to the fund's nature of distributing returns at the five-year maturity point, the initial returns are not particularly significant.

A commission official stated, "Despite the rapid fluctuations and declines in the listed stock market following the first fund, the current positive return reflects the effectiveness of the institutional measures put in place to alleviate the long-term investment burden on the public."
