Naver Cloud is partnering with Vietnam's leading information technology company, FPT, to expand its artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure business in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) market.
On October 12, Naver Cloud announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with FPT at Naver 1784 in Seongnam, South Korea, to jointly plan, develop, and operate the AI factory business. The two companies also plan to explore opportunities for GPU as a Service (GPUaaS) in Korea, Japan, and Vietnam.
This collaboration focuses on combining the GPU infrastructure, cloud technology, business capabilities, and customer networks of both companies to expand AI infrastructure and services. FPT is a global information and communication technology (ICT) leader in Vietnam and a partner of NVIDIA, actively operating in the local AI cloud market.
The two companies aim to jointly identify AI demand in the region that is challenging for individual companies to address and provide infrastructure, AI models, and services to businesses requiring GPU computing resources for large-scale AI training and inference. This initiative is designed to reduce the burden on clients in building their own infrastructure and facilitate the rapid adoption of AI technology.
They will also pursue engineering collaboration for the practical application of AI technology. A regular technical exchange program will be established involving Naver Cloud's development center in Vietnam, its headquarters' technical personnel, and FPT engineers. Through this program, they plan to jointly tackle tasks necessary for clients, such as optimizing GPU infrastructure, improving AI inference performance, and establishing real-world service environments for AI agents.
Kim Yoo-won, CEO of Naver Cloud, stated, “Through our collaboration with FPT, we can combine Naver Cloud's accumulated AI technology and experience with FPT's AI factory and enterprise business capabilities. Based on our technological and business strengths, we will respond to diverse AI demands in the APAC market, extending beyond Korea and Vietnam, and create collaborations that lead to tangible business outcomes.”
