Residents of Jangheung applied the space styling techniques they learned over 12 sessions to a real event venue, showcasing their training achievements.

The Jangheung Rural Vitality Center announced on October 12 that it held a performance sharing event for the 'Special Moments, Space Styling Class' at the Jangheung Healing Therapy Center on October 8.

The event was attended by over 50 participants, including students from the training program, local residents, and officials, who viewed the works created during the course and shared their accomplishments.

This program was part of the '2026 Jangheung County Capacity Building Project,' organized by Jangheung County and led by the Jangheung Rural Vitality Center. It aimed to enhance practical skills so that residents could apply the techniques learned in local events and community activities.

The training took place from August 27 to October 8, consisting of 12 sessions.

Beginning with the basics of space styling theory, the program included practical exercises in prop creation, plant interior design, space concept planning, and event and wedding space staging.

Students gained hands-on experience by creating props and decorating spaces using various materials. They also expanded opportunities for interaction and collaboration among residents by sharing ideas and working together.

Notably, the performance sharing event moved beyond simply displaying the training outcomes, as students applied the skills they learned directly to the event space.

The rooftop of the Jangheung Healing Therapy Center, where the event was held, was decorated and arranged by students and instructors working together. Catering was incorporated to create a functional event space, demonstrating the training results.

The sharing event included remarks from Bae Gwon-se, head of the Jangheung Rural Vitality Center, a presentation on the progress of the project, the distribution of certificates, and reflections from instructors and students.

Attendees sampled catering and viewed the styling works created by the students, concluding the 12-session training program.

Bae Gwon-se, head of the Jangheung Rural Vitality Center, stated, “This space styling class was a meaningful process where residents could learn and apply skills to real spaces, experiencing a sense of achievement. I hope the students will participate in various local events and community activities, bringing new vitality to Jangheung’s spaces and events.”

Meanwhile, the Jangheung Rural Vitality Center plans to ensure that the skills learned in this training are utilized in the community, rather than being a one-time program. It aims to continue discovering and operating field-centered capacity building programs that enhance residents' practical skills and opportunities for community engagement.
