Samsung Financial Networks (Samsung Life, Samsung Fire & Marine, Samsung Card, Samsung Securities) has partnered with the National Police Agency and the Korea Suicide Prevention Center to support at-risk youth and mental health recovery.

On October 14, Samsung Financial Networks announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Police Agency and the Korea Suicide Prevention Center to enhance cooperation in life-respecting initiatives.

The agreement aims to establish a support system that detects psychological crisis signs in youth early and provides assistance from emergency response to post-recovery.

Under the MOU, Samsung Financial and the National Police Agency plan to link the youth counseling channel 'Lime' with the 112 emergency reporting system to respond swiftly to crisis situations. If a counselor assesses a situation as dangerous, they will report it, allowing police to share relevant information with responding personnel and take action on-site. Lime is a social media counseling channel for youth that Samsung Financial has been operating in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Korea Suicide Prevention Center since 2024.

Post-rescue support will also be strengthened. Samsung Financial plans to offer a step-by-step support program, including one-on-one counseling, psychological assessments, and referrals to specialized treatment for youth rescued by the police on-site.

Additionally, a 'Mental Health Program' will be provided to support the psychological recovery of police officers responding to crisis situations.

Hong Won-hak, CEO of Samsung Life, stated, "We will work closely with the National Police Agency and the Korea Suicide Prevention Center to reduce blind spots in crisis response. We will continue our life-respecting activities to ensure that both youth in need of help and the police officers protecting the scene receive appropriate support."
