A Korean Air passenger plane heading to Da Nang, Vietnam, returned to Gimhae International Airport due to an engine system malfunction.

According to Korean Air, the flight KE2093 took off from Gimhae Airport at approximately 10:22 a.m. on the previous day when an engine system warning was triggered.

The aircraft returned to Gimhae Airport after burning off some fuel over the waters off Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province. At the time, there were 146 passengers on board.

Korean Air deployed a replacement aircraft of the same model, which departed for Da Nang around 4 p.m. the same day. The airline has reportedly provided appropriate compensation to the affected passengers.

Korean Air stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure the safe operation of our aircraft."
