Cheon Jun-ho, the acting leader of the Democratic Party, announced plans to introduce a special prosecutor bill targeting manipulated indictments, stating, "We will ensure that justice is served."

During a policy coordination meeting held at the National Assembly, Cheon remarked, "Today, the special committee on the investigation into manipulated indictments will adopt its final report and conclude its activities."

He further accused Yoon Suk Yeol of orchestrating manipulated indictments by mobilizing power agencies, explaining, "When Yoon identifies a target, both the political prosecution and the Board of Audit and Inspection act simultaneously."

Cheon emphasized that actions such as fabricating recordings and creating false documents, as well as human rights violations, must be addressed, labeling them as state violence crimes that require strict accountability.

Additionally, he pointed out that while the sentencing for Yoon Suk Yeol's obstruction of arrest and Kim Geon-hee's stock manipulation charges increased in the appeals court compared to the first trial, it remained lower than the prosecution's requested sentences. He stated, "It is difficult to understand how this could happen when the constitutional order has been clearly violated."

Previously, Yoon was sentenced to seven years in prison for obstruction of arrest in an appeals court, while Kim received a four-year sentence for stock manipulation on the 28th. The special prosecutor had requested sentences of ten years and fifteen years for the respective charges. In the first trial, Yoon was sentenced to five years and Kim to one year and eight months.

Cheon concluded, "We must engrave this in history so that no one dares to dream of such actions again," adding that the Democratic Party will focus on restoring the constitutional order and upholding the rule of law.
