Singer-songwriter EJAE (Kim Eun-jae), who provided vocals for the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' married music producer Sam Kim (Samuel Kim). Fellow artists from 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' attended the wedding to offer their congratulations.
According to Vogue on October 20, the couple held a private outdoor wedding on October 17 at Stage 28 in the Godeok-dong area of Seoul. Originally scheduled for November in California, they moved the venue to Korea and advanced the date.
The ceremony took place at the former home of EJAE's maternal grandfather, veteran actor Shin Young-kyun, where EJAE spent his childhood. His brother also had his wedding at the same location.
Attendees included Audrey Nuna and Ray Ami, who performed as members of the girl group HuntRix in 'K-Pop Demon Hunters.' EJAE expressed gratitude for their presence, noting that they have been significant figures in his life over the past year.
On October 16, the day before the wedding, the couple held a traditional ceremony called 'paebaek' at a fusion Korean restaurant, Kongdu50, where Shin Young-kyun and EJAE's grandmother Kim Sun-hee also offered their blessings.
During the main ceremony, EJAE showcased three dresses created by designers Daniel Frankel and Jack Pozon. The reception featured a street food-style setup offering Korean delicacies. After the wedding, EJAE and Sam Kim celebrated with a small group in Itaewon, dancing late into the night.
The couple first met in May 2017 while collaborating on songwriting through a mutual acquaintance. They bonded over shared interests in music and animation, eventually developing a romantic relationship.
EJAE gained international popularity for his role as Lumi in 'K-Pop Demon Hunters,' contributing to the song 'Golden' as a lyricist and composer, which was released last year.
