Nu Skin Korea is supporting interactions among families of patients with the rare disease Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). This year, the regular family gathering was combined with a 1-night, 2-day family camp to facilitate sharing of experiences and concerns.

Nu Skin Korea announced on October 20 that it held the '21st Family Gathering for Epidermolysis Bullosa Patients' at the National Central Youth Training Center in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, on October 17-18.

Since 2003, Nu Skin has been supporting the surgical and treatment costs of patients through its member-led volunteer organization, the 'Nu Skin Force for Good Foundation,' and has facilitated regular family gatherings.

About 70 people attended the official sponsorship event on the first day of the camp, including Nu Skin employees, foundation members, patients, and their families. The event featured welcoming remarks from George Hoon, CEO of Nu Skin Korea, followed by a sponsorship board presentation. Nu Skin Korea also received a commemorative plaque from the Korean Epidermolysis Bullosa Patient Association in honor of its 30th anniversary.

Families enjoyed a magic show and participated in the training center's experiential program 'Naturally,' which included treasure hunts and walks. On the second day, families who often face challenges in meeting due to distance and scheduling constraints shared their daily concerns and experiences.

A Nu Skin representative stated, "This gathering was organized in conjunction with the long-desired 1-night, 2-day family camp, allowing families to interact more comfortably and build connections. We will continue to provide support and attention for patients and their families in the future."

Epidermolysis Bullosa is a rare genetic disorder that causes blisters on the skin and mucous membranes from minor friction or irritation. This year, Nu Skin and the Force for Good Foundation donated a total of 40 million won, with 20 million won each to the Korean Epidermolysis Bullosa Patient Association and Gangnam Severance Hospital for patient surgeries, treatment costs, and research.

Additionally, Nu Skin Korea produced and donated a 'Safe and Enjoyable School Life Guidebook' last year to help patients adapt to school life. The guidebook includes basic information about the disease, challenges faced by patients in school, and ways teachers can provide support.

Since 2008, Nu Skin Korea has improved underdeveloped library facilities nationwide through its 'Nu Skin Hope Library' project, opening 31 libraries and donating approximately 20,000 new books to date.
