The Umi Hope Foundation has renovated six facilities for children with disabilities across the country. Since launching the disability education environment improvement project 'Living in Harmony' in 2022, the foundation has supported a total of 25 facilities as of this year.

On October 22, the Umi Hope Foundation announced that it has completed improvements at six selected facilities this year: Gwangju Geumb Children's Center, Gimpo Gochang Children's Center in Gyeonggi Province, Sarangteo Children's Center in North Gyeongsang Province, Immanuel Grace Children's Center and Gaon Nuri Children's Center in North Chungcheong Province, and Bethania Ecological Children's Center in South Jeolla Province.

'Living in Harmony' is a project that the Umi Hope Foundation has been conducting in partnership with the social welfare corporation Warm Companionship since 2022 to improve the spaces of educational facilities for people with disabilities.

Facilities for children with disabilities are those that care for 12 or more children with disabilities on a regular basis. The foundation replaced old wallpaper and flooring, removed thresholds in sensory integration rooms, and installed safety mats in playrooms to reduce the risk of accidents during movement.

Since last year, the support has been specifically targeted at facilities for children with disabilities. The six facilities selected this year were confirmed as support targets after undergoing document and on-site evaluations in July.

Lee Chun-seok, director of the Umi Hope Foundation, stated, “Many facilities across the country applied for support, indicating that there are numerous places in urgent need of improvements. We hope that this space enhancement will allow children to play and live without the worry of getting hurt.”
