Samsung C&T's construction division has been selected as the contractor for the remodeling project of the Banpo Prugio apartments in Seocho-gu, Seoul. This marks the first project under Samsung C&T's newly launched 'Next Remodeling' initiative, with an estimated construction cost of approximately 125 billion won.
On October 24, Samsung C&T announced that the selection of the contractor was approved during the general meeting of the Banpo Prugio Apartment Remodeling Housing Association.
The project involves remodeling a three-building complex with 237 units, originally completed in 2000, which consists of two basement levels and 12 above-ground floors. Additionally, a new five-story community facility will be constructed.
This project will be the first application of Samsung C&T's 'Next Remodeling' concept, which aims to enhance residential performance by utilizing the existing apartment structure while significantly improving the facilities and both the interior and exterior aesthetics. Upon completion, the project is expected to transform into a new Raemian complex.
The proposed new complex name is 'Raemian Aspel Banpo,' derived from the Latin word 'Aspirare,' meaning aspiration and direction, reflecting a commitment to high residential standards.
The exterior of the complex will feature stone finishes on all floors and a panoramic design. The new community building will incorporate curtain wall facades and a rooftop garden to differentiate its appearance.
Inside the units, specialized layouts will address the limitations of the existing wall structure. Two types of units are proposed: a 'Suite' type that enhances the master zone, including bathrooms, and a 'Lounge' type that places the kitchen and dining area at the forefront. Sliding doors and built-in furniture and appliances will be utilized to maximize space efficiency.
The community facilities will be designed at approximately 2.7 pyeong per unit. A new five-story community building, totaling 440 pyeong, will be constructed in the center of the complex, featuring a welcome lounge, golf lounge, wellness studio, and private party rooms. The underground space will include pet care facilities, a music listening room, and studios.
Technologies aimed at improving energy performance will also be implemented. A 'Green Shield' exterior system combining external insulation and a building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) system will be introduced, along with soundproof flooring specifically designed for remodeling.
Samsung C&T plans to enhance residential convenience by integrating smart home platform 'Homnic,' senior living solutions 'Everling,' and AI wellness solutions.
This project, which improves residential performance and marketability while utilizing the existing structure, is expected to broaden the options for the maintenance of aging apartments.
Kim Myung-seok, Vice President of Samsung C&T's Housing Product Marketing Division, stated, 'We will successfully implement the Banpo Prugio Apartment remodeling project to provide differentiated residential value to the members. As the first site of the Next Remodeling initiative, it will serve as a bridge for the future expansion of the urban regeneration market.'
