SEOUL, October 28 (AJP) - Unionized workers at Samsung Biologics will resume negotiations over wages and other labor-related issues next week, warning that they will launch strikes if talks with management fail to produce an agreement.
According to the biopharmaceutical company's union on Wednesday, the talks, scheduled to begin on Nov. 3, would be "all-or-nothing" negotiations, with the union calling them a final opportunity to reach an agreement.
The union also threatened that there would be "no more next round of negotiations" if the upcoming talks failed.
Labor and management have been at odds for months over wage increases and changes to the company's personnel system, after negotiations between the two sides broke down in late March.
Workers staged a partial strike in late April, followed by a full strike in early May. Since then, the union has refused overtime and shifts on holidays.
The union had planned to launch another strike this week but postponed it following a court ruling that broadened the scope of work subject to restrictions on strikes.
