HD Hyundai Robotics is collaborating with global AI software company Palantir Technologies to enhance its 'Physical AI Solutions.'

Recently, HD Hyundai Robotics announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Ahn Seong-hwan, participated as a keynote speaker at Palantir's 'Sovereignty Bootcamp' held in New York.

The Sovereignty Bootcamp aims to protect corporate data and core business information while exploring ways to strengthen business competitiveness through AI. Since its inception in July, the event has attracted over 450 executives from more than 250 global institutions and companies.

Ahn Seong-hwan introduced HD Hyundai Robotics' strategies for applying Physical AI and shared the current status and achievements of collaborative projects with Palantir.

The core of the partnership focuses on innovating work methods for applying Physical AI in business settings and redefining the role of field engineers.

Previously, skilled engineers had to manually verify robot movements on-site, repeatedly adjusting work sequences, paths, and speeds based on experience. This reliance on experience posed practical limitations in standardization.

To address this, both companies are concentrating on integrating AI, simulation, and engineers' judgment. AI agents analyze existing robot programs to derive improvement measures, which engineers then refine based on their on-site experience.

The role of field engineers has also been redefined. HD Hyundai Robotics plans to develop field engineers into 'on-site solution experts' who define problems and implement optimal solutions using AI technology, moving beyond traditional roles in robot programming, installation, and commissioning.

Through this process, HD Hyundai Robotics expects to reduce robot programming costs by over 50%. Since introducing AI agents into the problem-solving process in August, the companies have successfully shortened the average time required for tasks from 21.5 days to 7.9 days, a reduction of approximately 63%.

Ahn Seong-hwan stated, "We are continuously expanding collaborations with global companies to further enhance our Physical AI capabilities. We plan to identify challenges that can resolve on-site issues more quickly and effectively, thereby expanding the application scope of our Physical AI solutions."
