The largest agricultural machinery and equipment expo in South Korea will take place in Daegu, showcasing advanced farming technologies such as autonomous agricultural machinery and agricultural robots.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced that the '2026 Korea International Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Expo' will be held from November 4 to 7 at the Daegu EXCO. This year marks the 17th edition of the expo, which is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in collaboration with the Korea Agricultural Machinery Industry Cooperative, Daegu Metropolitan City, and the Farmers' Newspaper. The event has been held every two years since its inception in 1992.
A total of 433 companies from 25 countries, including 345 domestic and 88 foreign firms, will participate in this year's event. The expo will feature 436 models and over 2,100 agricultural machines across 11 exhibition halls. Attendees can expect to see a variety of products, including smart farm equipment, agricultural mobility solutions, transplanting, seeding, and harvesting machinery, as well as equipment for fruit and forestry, processing, and smart livestock machinery.
A 'Future Agriculture Hall' will also be set up to introduce future agricultural technologies. This hall will showcase agricultural machinery utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous driving, and robotics, along with demonstrations of pest control, weeding, and transportation tasks. Advanced technologies such as humanoid robots for strawberry harvesting and automated control in smart greenhouses will also be presented.
The expo will enhance support programs for domestic companies looking to export. A new export consulting service will be introduced to address challenges related to permits and regulations for agricultural machinery and equipment companies seeking to enter overseas markets. Additionally, a tailored matching service will connect domestic firms with international buyers. Various side events, including job fairs, seminars on policies to boost agricultural machinery exports, and an AI competition, are also planned.
Export consultation results have shown an upward trend. In the 2024 event, 429 companies from 25 countries participated, resulting in domestic consultations worth 77.3 billion won and export consultations totaling 682 billion won. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to strengthen export consulting and buyer matching this year to support the expansion of domestic agricultural machinery and equipment companies into international markets.
During the opening ceremony, government awards will be presented to manufacturers who have contributed to the development of the agricultural machinery industry. A total of eight awards will be given, including one Industrial Medal, one Industrial Citation, three Presidential Citations, and three Prime Minister's Citations.
Kim Jeong-wook, Director of the Agricultural Industry Innovation Policy Office at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, stated, "We hope this expo serves as an opportunity for domestic companies to expand into overseas markets and increase exports, while also allowing farmers to directly witness the changes in future agriculture. The government will actively support everything from research and development to practical application, dissemination, and export."
