Gwachon City Corporation is expanding its lifestyle sports services by offering additional educational opportunities for residents waiting for regular swimming lessons.
According to the corporation, the second session of the 'One-Point Swimming Special Class' was completed from October 20 to 29 at the Gwachon Youth Training Center swimming pool, targeting adult customers on a long waiting list.
This special class was organized during the time when elementary school survival swimming classes are not in session due to the academic calendar.
The initiative aims to reduce inconveniences for residents waiting for regular lessons and to expand swimming education opportunities by efficiently utilizing existing facilities and personnel.
Following the first session held in May, a total of nine classes have been conducted this year, with 72 participants overall.
The second session included two groups, intermediate and advanced, with a total of 36 participants.
Classes were held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11:50 a.m., led by professional sports staff affiliated with the corporation.
The intermediate group focused on correcting basic postures and techniques for backstroke and breaststroke, while the advanced group received tailored instruction on individual medley (IM) 100m completion and turn techniques.
Additionally, a dedicated lane was operated to separate general free swimming and other classes, enhancing the focus on education.
A corporation official stated, "We provided practical educational opportunities for long-waiting customers by efficiently utilizing existing facilities and personnel. We will continue to expand lifestyle sports programs that residents can truly feel, reflecting operational conditions and citizen demand."
