Hanwha Aerospace has officially commenced construction of a guided missile production facility in Poland. This marks a significant milestone in expanding its defense partnership established through the export of K9 self-propelled howitzers and Cheonmu multiple launch rocket systems.

On November 4, local time, Hanwha Aerospace held a groundbreaking ceremony for the guided missile factory in cooperation with Poland's WB Group, under their joint venture HWBAS, in Głogów Wielkopolski. This facility will be the first guided missile production site established by Hanwha Aerospace overseas.

The factory, set to be completed by 2028 on a site of approximately 1.16 million square meters, will produce the CGR-080 guided missile, which has an operational range of 80 kilometers and will be deployed on the Polish variant of the Cheonmu, the Homar-K. Following the establishment of production facilities, technology transfer, and testing and certification processes, initial production is expected to begin by the end of 2029, with full-scale production starting in 2030.

Lee Boo-hwan, CEO of Hanwha Aerospace, stated, "Poland is a key strategic partner with whom we have built trust through the export of K9 self-propelled howitzers and Cheonmu multiple launch rockets. We aim to further expand our industrial cooperation with Poland and create sustained growth momentum in the European defense market."
