Heavy snowfall hits northwestern Vietnam

A heavy snowfall hit northwestern part of Vietnam, including the frontier town and tourist spot of Sapa, Sunday, reports said.

Snowfall reached 20 centimeters in some areas in Lao Cai Province, northwestern Vietnam, and 5-10 centimeters in nearby areas and roads, causing traffic congestion.

Temperatures neared zero Celcius, according to the reports.
