South Korean-born New Zealand teenage golfer Lydia Ko has traded her glasses for contacts, a U.S. golf magazine reported Tuesday (local time).

Ko, a LPGA Tour sophomore, traded "her signature glasses for contacts, giving the prodigious teen a more grown-up look," the magazine, Golf Week, said.

The five-time LPGA winner will begin her season at the inaugural Coates Golf Championship on Jan. 28-31 in Ocala, Florida, it said.

Ko moved up one notch to second place in the latest women’s world golf rankings after winning the LPGA's season-ending CME Group Tour Championship golf tournament in Naples, Florida, Nov. 23 last year.

The 17-year-old won the 2014 LPGA Rookie of the Year award, becoming the youngest winner of the award in LPGA history.

Park In-bee of South Korea ended the 2014 LPGA Tour season as the world's No. 1. Stacy Lewis of the United States ranked third.
