It must have been one heck of a grilled sandwich because Daniel Brian Blackwell of Maryland opened fire at his wife and their three teenage children after his wife took a bite of his sandwich.
According to Baltimore County Police, Blackwell, 55, began firing multiple rounds through his kitchen floor from his basement around 5 pm on Sunday, forcing his wife and their kids to evacuate and call police.
When the local police showed up, Blackwell barricaded himself in his house. After a three-hour-long standoff, he surrendered peacefully and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries he sustained during the standoff and arrest.
According to a police report, Blackwell became increasingly angry after his wife "took a bite out of his grilled cheese sandwich". He then fired shots aiming at the kitchen where his wife was preparing for dinner.
From his basement, the police found 15 firearms Blackwell cannot possess due to previous charges. He is charged with attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and other firearm violations.
The story went viral on Facebook and was shared over 8,000 times. Baltimore is a seaport city of Maryland. As beautiful as it is, it is also known for a high crime rate.
