A man in his 70s fell unconscious aboard a subway train packed with evening commuters but he was lucky because firefighters and a nurse happened to be riding together.
It took place at a subway station in southern Seoul at 06:45 pm (0945GMT) on Wednesday. "A commuter immediately started to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)," Seoul's Fire and Disaster Headquarters said in a statement.
Luckily, there were two firefighters and a St' Mary's Hospital nurse standing nearby. The professional lifesavers immediately did their job to resuscitate him with a portable defibrillator. The man finally regained his consciousness and was carried off to a hospital. The brave commuter who performed CPR has disappeared without identifying himself.
