The delivery service is now available at five stores in Seoul, and GS Retail promised to expand it across the country.
Customers can choose from some 100 products from cosmetics and daily necessities including health functional food. The service is available from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Customers should buy at least 20,000 won ($16) to use the service.
To capture young consumers that prefer to stay at home than to go out to shop, Yogiyo has focused on partnering with a variety of store chains including CU, a local convenience store franchise, to offer customers grocery delivery service at some 4,000 stores.
CU said the average delivery sales of stores increased by 19.2 percent after the convenience store chain partnered with Yogiyo to add daily supplies to the list of products available through the grocery delivery service in September last year. CU said that 46 percent of total delivery orders were sanitary products including condoms and sanitary pads.
