The Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) said in a statement on April 18 that the institute partnered with the Korea Brain Research Institute (KBRI) to beef up the country's brain research capabilities. Various types of research that cover brain-related diseases, neural engineering, neuroimaging, and data science will be carried out. A shared brain research infrastructure will be established.
"We will jointly develop a brain big data analysis and verification platform based on AI technology," KBRI director Seo Pan-gil said in a statement. He said the cooperation will lay the groundwork for upgrading brain research. "We will contribute to improving people's quality of life, securing national competitiveness and building a global status through outstanding brain research," said Lee Kwang-hyung, KAIST president.
