The first season of Baby Shark’s Big Show!, rolled out in March 2021, ranked first in the U.S. among infant and child viewers on the first day of airing. The show had been broadcast in Britain, Italy and Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
Pinkfong said in a statement on June 14 that the company will continue to work with Nickelodeon to create "Baby Shark's Big Show! – Season 3." The animation will be directed by Alan Foreman, a producer well known for the 2017 animation film "Welcome to the Wayne." Luke Youngblood will take part in the animation series along with Kimiko Glenn, an American actress who appeared in the Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black." "We will continue to deliver joy to the world and touch our viewers' hearts through our content, and strengthen our capacity as a global entertainment company," an unnamed Pinkfong official was quoted as saying.
Pinkfong has received immense popularity through its Baby Shark content. Baby Shark portrays a story about a family of great white sharks with colorful visuals and a catchy melody. The "Baby Shark Dance" video uploaded in 2016 is now one of the most-watched on YouTube. As of June 15, the video garnered more than 12 billion views. Pinkfong has collaborated with foreign voice actors to produce content in different languages. The company's communications manager Yeon Hee-jae told Aju Business Daily that choosing the right words that fit each culture has been quite challenging when translating original lyrics into other languages.
