SEOUL, October 4 (AJP) - Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani stated on Thursday that the ongoing crisis in the Middle East amounts to "collective genocide," emphasizing that Qatar has consistently warned against Israel's "unchecked actions."

Speaking at the Asia Cooperation Dialogue summit in Doha, he noted that the situation in Gaza is clearly a form of genocide, further stating that the Gaza Strip is being rendered uninhabitable, paving the way for displacement.

The Emir also condemned Israeli airstrikes and military activities against Lebanon, calling them acts of aggression toward a "brotherly nation." Israel denies allegations of genocide, which were leveled after it launched a military campaign in Gaza a year ago in response to Hamas militants' attack that killed 1,200 people and took over 250 hostages. Health authorities in Gaza, governed by Hamas, report that over 41,500 residents have died in the Israeli strikes.

Additionally, Israel began a ground operation in Lebanon this week, targeting Hezbollah, a group supported by Iran, which has been attacking Israel in what it claims is an expression of solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
