SEOUL, November 12 (AJP) - Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang said on Monday that China is ready to strengthen communication with Singapore on key international and regional strategic matters and work together to support economic globalization, as global trade protectionism rises and unilateralism becomes more common.

Ding, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made these remarks during a meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

He said that the leaders of both nations announced a new direction for their comprehensive and high-quality future-oriented partnership last year, setting the framework for the development of bilateral relations in the new era.

With next year marking the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore, Ding expressed China's readiness to collaborate further with Singapore to implement the consensus reached by their leaders, strengthen high-level exchanges, build political trust, and firmly support each other on core issues and major concerns.

He encouraged both sides to align their development strategies more closely, enhance planning, and continuously explore new areas for mutual cooperation and growth.

Ding emphasized that China will continue its commitment to institutional opening-up, creating a world-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized. He added that China hopes to attract more foreign companies, including those from Singapore, to invest and do business in China, aiming for a better future together.

Prime Minister Wong said that Singapore values its relations with China and will continue to uphold the one-China policy. He expressed Singapore's willingness to deepen cooperation with China in areas such as economy, trade, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges, working towards mutual benefit and win-win outcomes to bring greater benefits to both nations and their people.

He also said Singapore's desire to play a constructive role in advancing ASEAN-China relations and collaborating with China to protect free trade and promote regional stability and openness.
