SBS signed a memorandum of understanding with the global streaming giant on Friday to provide content for six years starting in January.
Popular SBS variety and educational programs such as Running Man, Unanswered Questions, and Kick a Goal, along with hit dramas like The Penthouse: War in Life and Sandglass, will be available on Netflix.
Starting in the second half of next year, some upcoming SBS dramas will be simultaneously released worldwide on Netflix, further expanding the Korean firm's global reach.
"This agreement is based on our future strategy of going global beyond terrestrial TV. This partnership will create new opportunities for both SBS and Netflix," said SBS CEO Bae Moon-sin.
"Our collaboration with SBS will usher in a new golden era for K-content," said Kang Dong-han, vice president of Netflix's Korean content division.
