Super Junior's Choi Si-won named special representative for UNICEF Korea

South Korean boy band Super Junior's Choi Si-won has been named a special representative for the Korean Committee for UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund), his management agency in Seoul said Tuesday.

The committee cited that Choi participated in UNICEF Korea's campaign to fight AIDS in 2010, Santa campaign to help children in need in 2013, coin donation campaign in 2014 and campaign to help child victims of an earthquake that occurred in Nepal last April, according to the agency, SM Entertainment.  

Choi will receive a certificate of appointment at a ceremony to be held at the committee's office in Changseong-dong, Jongno-gu, central Seoul, Thursday, SM said.
