Korean Film 'Pig Lady' awarded the Grand Prix at Osaka film festival

A South Korean Film "My Sister, the Pig Lady" by director Jang Moon-il was awarded the Grand Prix at the 11th Osaka Asian Film Festival on Sunday.

The film starring famous actress Hwang Jeong-eum was released in Korea last September. My Sister, the Pig Lady depicts a story of a pig-raising woman living on an island looking for love. The film was praised by the jury Yee Chih-yen for "Successfully balancing the commercial and the artistic fields of filmmaking."

The director, Jang Moon-il is also known for his works- "My Girl and I" starring Cha Tae-hyun and Song Hye-gyo, and "A Good Day to Have an Affair" starring Kim Hye-su and Lee Jong-hyuk. Lee also starred in the Pig Lady as the only young, unmarried man left on the island who constantly gets love calls from female occupants, including the pig lady.
