Some 6,000 vehicles sold by British car maker Jaguar Land Rover and other foreign firms in South Korea will be recalled for defective parts and other reasons, transport authorities said Tuesday.
The local unit of Jaguar Land Rover will recall about 4,000 units, including 2,783 Land Rover Discovery Sports Diesels produced between September 3, 2014, and March 5, 2016, the transport ministry said in a statement.
The license plate light of the sports model could crack and break off due to chemical reactions with windshield wash, it said, adding 928 Land Rover Discovery 4 Diesel units would be recalled to fix faulty crank angle sensors.
The ministry said 1,267 Jaguar XJs were found to have problems in their fan belt idler pulley while two Jaguar XF will be recalled due to a defective design applied to their upper fuel pump.
Nissan Korea will recall 353 Infinity Q50 sedans because of errors caused by their electronics steering software that could send them steering off to an unwanted direction.
Two S8s will be recalled by Audi Volkswagen Korea for their defective adhesive applied on the sunroof. The transport ministry said the sunroof may separate from the vehicle while driving.
Other importers include FCA Korea (Jeep Grand Cherokee), Mercedes-Benz Korea, Scania Korea Seoul, and Moto Rossa (Ducati)
