Volkswagen to recall 1,930 vehicles

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has ordered Volkswagen to recall three models of its Golf subcompact and Jetta sedan due to electrical flaws in their gear transmission system, ministry officials said.

Under the order, the German automaker will recall a total of 1,930 cars which were produced between May 31, 2010 and Aug. 27, 2011, they said.

The cars recalled, fitted with a seven-speed DSG transmission, includes 370 units of Golf 1.4 TSI, 1,078 vehicles of Golf 1.6 TDI BlueMotion and 482 units of Jetta 1.6 TDI BlueMotion.
