SEOUL, August 5 (AJU PRESS) - SK C&C, a Korean IT services provider, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with FPT IS, a leading Vietnamese ICT company, to cooperate on global digital ESG (environmental, social and governance) business expansion, the company announced on Monday.

The agreement, signed during the Vietnam-Korea Digital Forum 2024 in Seoul, aims to address growing ESG demands in Korea, Vietnam, and European markets. The partnership will focus on developing integrated digital ESG offerings and services for global clients.

The collaboration will leverage SK C&C's Digital Carbon Passport platform to help European manufacturers comply with carbon emission reporting requirements, including the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and other EU carbon management regulations.

Both companies plan to explore interconnections between their respective digital ESG platforms and solutions. SK C&C's platform automates carbon emission reports and quantifies environmental impacts throughout a product's lifecycle, while FPT IS offers software for tracking and managing carbon emissions at the business unit level.

The partnership also aims to expand into Southeast Asian markets, utilizing SK C&C's expertise in designing and constructing Net Zero Factories, which are factories aiming for carbon neutrality. A joint task force will be established to expedite business development and marketing efforts.

"This collaboration has broadened our opportunities to showcase SK C&C's digital ESG technological capabilities, including the carbon passport platform, not only in Korea and Vietnam but also in European and Southeast Asian markets," said Kim Harvey, head of global business at SK C&C.

He added, "We will continue to identify global digital ESG success stories by cooperating to help major global manufacturing companies secure sustainable net-zero and ESG capabilities."
