The PEB110 achieves data transfer speeds of 32 gigabytes per second (GTs) and is the first SK hynix data center SSD to feature security protocols and data model (SPDM) technology, enhancing information security. This addition addresses the growing concern of cyber attacks on data centers.
SK hynix is currently working with global data center customers on product certification and plans to begin mass production in the second quarter of next year.
“This product was developed based on our 238-layer 4D NAND, which has proven to be the best in performance, securing industry-leading competitiveness in terms of cost, performance, and quality,” Hyun Ahn, vice president of SK hynix said.
The company emphasized that as the AI era accelerates, customer demand for high-performance NAND solution products like data center SSDs is growing alongside the need for ultra-high-speed DRAM such as HBM. With the development of the PEB110, SK hynix aims to strengthen its SSD portfolio and meet diverse customer needs in the expanding data center SSD market, the company said.
