The PCB01 boasts sequential read and write speeds of 14GB/s and 12GB/s respectively, capable of running large language models within a second. It also improves power efficiency by over 30 percent compared to previous generations.
The company has incorporated SLC caching technology to enhance general computing tasks alongside AI services. Security features include a built-in Root of Trust solution to protect against external attacks and data tampering.
SK hynix plans to begin mass production and launch the product within the year, offering capacities of 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. The company is currently working with global PC clients on product certification.
An Hyun, SK hynix vice president, said the new product has attracted collaboration requests from big tech companies producing on-device AI PC CPUs due to its significantly improved performance.
This development aims to solidify SK hynix's leadership in AI memory, expanding from its strong position in high-performance DRAM to NAND solutions.
