SEOUL, September 15 (AJP) - South Korean fried-chicken chain bhc Chicken has opened its first store in Viet Nam, marking its entry into the Southeast Asian market and expanding its overseas presence to 10 countries.
According to Dining Brands Group, formerly known as BHC Group, which operates the chain, its first Vietnamese outlet opened last Saturday at Vincom Plaza Phan Van Tri in Ho Chi Minh City, several months after it signed a franchise deal with Vietnamese food and beverage company Hao Open Foods in April.
The new outlet offers bhc Chicken's signature fried chicken, along with snacks such as tteokbokki and kimchi-fried rice as well as other menu items tailored to local tastes.
"With the opening of our first outlet in Viet Nam, we will closely monitor local tastes and customer feedback as we work to expand our presence as a global brand," said Nam Hwa-yeon who is in charge of overseas business.
bhc Chicken now operates 51 stores across 10 overseas countries including Canada, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the U.S. and Viet Nam.
