The company said Wednesday it is participating in the international rail exhibition from Sept. 22 to 25.
Hyundai Rotem is unveiling its next-generation high-speed train concept for the first time. Developed in cooperation with Hyundai Motor Group’s Hyundai Design Center, the train features an aerodynamic exterior inspired by biomimicry and a passenger-focused interior designed to improve legroom, storage space and overall comfort.
The company is also displaying an EMU-320 high-speed train, the platform used for South Korea’s KTX-Cheongryong, which has a top operating speed of 320 kilometers per hour.
Hyundai Rotem is also presenting a model of a hydrogen-electric tram equipped with autonomous driving and AI technologies. The system is designed to handle tasks ranging from pre-operation inspections to autonomous driving and maintenance, while onboard AI-based CCTV can detect emergencies and alert control systems in real time.
The company said it aims to further develop the technology toward fully autonomous hydrogen tram operations.
