The Netherlands won a dramatic, come-from-the-behind victory over Mexico in a Round of 16 football match at Castelao Stadium in Fortaleza, Sunday.
Midfielder Wesley Sneijder of the Netherlands scored the 1-1 equalizer in the 88th minute, and forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar converted an injury time penalty for a 2-1 victory over Mexico.
Mexico lost in the Round of 16 of a World Cup for the sixth consecutive time.
Mexico's Giovani dos Santos scored his side’s lone goal in the 48th minute.
In another Round of 16 match at the Arena Pernambuco Stadium in Recife, Costa Rica won the penalty shoot-out 5-3 over Greece to reach the quarter-finals after their match ended 1-1 draw after extra-time.
